This class introduces you to the different types of flavours that are used by Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) to determine the flavours of a coffee. Learn the theory behind taste and smell functions and get hands on with activities to try out the different flavours.

About the Trainer
This class is led by Tam, our Head of Coffee, who has been passionately involved in the specialty coffee industry for the past 10 years. He is a certified Q-grader and Quality Evaluation Lecturer. In addition, he serves as a sensory judge in the World Brewers Cup Championship and as an International Juror for the Cup of Excellence.

What You’ll be Doing

Learn about the sense of smell and taste and how they affect how we perceive different flavours.

Discover the list of flavours based on CQI standards and how to create them using the solutions provided.

Participate in activities to taste 2 different sets of flavours - the standard and faulty ones.
