Fundamentals of Immersion Brewing


This course should appeal to both home-brewers and professional baristas alike, exploring the simplicity and versatility of some very special brewers. This workshop introduces you to filter coffee and guides you on finding the right set of brewing variables to get the best out of your Immersion brews.  We will feature some simple yet effective recipes that are sure to impress as we work towards perfecting your brew on the Clever Coffee Dripper (CCD) and AeroPress.

The class contains the following content:

  • Introduction to Filter Coffee – detailing the differences between Immersion and Pour-over brews
  • Brewing Techniques – identifying right coffee and grind profiles when building a brewing recipe
  • Quality Evaluation Training – understanding extraction theory and fine-tuning brewing parameters based on visual cues and sensory evaluation


Attendees will understand the theory and practical aspects of immersion brewing, and they will be able to brew coffee to an industry-standard brew with the Clever Coffee Dripper (CCD) and AeroPress.
