This coffee is from small growers in Gaitania, Tolima, about 70% of this coffee is grown by the indigenous community "Nasa Wesx". The Nasa Wesx communities live in different indigenous territories in Cauca, Huila, and Tolima. This community has been part of the ASOPEP Farmers Cooperative since 2014, and with their support, are now certified organic coffee producers.
Gaitania is located 40km southwest of the remote Planadas, Tolima. This region is well recognized by the specialty coffee industry, coffees from this region are valued for vibrant and complex flavours. Pristine growing conditions such as cool temperatures, volcanic ash soil, and high altitude allow for coffee trees to slowly develop coffee cherries, rewarding us with a sweet coffee and amazing acidity.
This coffee strikes a perfect balance of ripe acidity and a fresh sweetness akin to sugarcane and fresh figs. It can be enjoyed as both espresso or manual brew and is guaranteed to offer a comfortable cup.
